Welcome to Shermanarts.org
Find your art here! The City of Sherman is brimming with music, art, history, architecture, culinary treats, and other sensory delights for your inner artist. Now, our cultural and community leaders are working to launch the city's new Sherman Cultural District. It will bring added excitement to the heart of Downtown Sherman as the hub for all this creative energy. On this website, you'll find news of our vibrant arts scene, a calendar of events, and a place to hear from artists and organizations leading the way.
Adding to the buzz, the City of Sherman has submitted its application to the Texas Commission on the Arts for consideration of our Sherman Cultural District (SCD) as an official State Cultural District. We have a great story to tell! We can't wait to share more with residents and visitors about the many great opportunities to experience the arts in Sherman. You'll find more here soon.
If you like live performance, don't miss the next two weeks of Hot Summer Nights. Thursday, June 21 features Memphis Soul (Opener: Oliver White), and June 28 is Havana NRG (Opener: Morris McCann). Both concerts begin at 7 p.m. at Kidd-Key Park at the Sherman Municipal Building. Or how about some some live theater?
Grease is entering its nearly-sold-out final weekend at the Finley Theater, and happily, one more performance has been added for 7 p.m. Sunday night, June 24. Tickets are available at scptheater.org or at the Sherman Community Players box office at 903-892-8818. Check back often to see what's happening in the SCD, and mark your calendars for the amazing events happening every week. There's something for everyone! Find your art!
