Sherman Jazz Museum
Sherman swings with a heart of jazz, beginning with the Sherman Jazz Museum - an amazing treasure trove from the height of the Big Band jazz era that "rivals the Smithsonian," according to Buddy Magazine. The museum features spectacular rooms featuring larger-than life murals, stacks of vinyl albums, vintage recording and phonograph equipment, displays of trumpets owned by famous musicians including Doc Severinsen, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis, and an array of jazz memorabilia. Live performances are scheduled periodically in the Museum's Trumpet Room. The Museum also is central to the annual Sherman Jazz Classic each April, featuring outstanding jazz artists from around the world.
