Sherman Jazz Museum

Sherman swings with a heart of jazz, beginning with the Sherman Jazz Museum - an amazing treasure trove from the height of the Big Band jazz era that "rivals the Smithsonian," according to Buddy Magazine. The museum features spectacular rooms featuring larger-than life murals, stacks of vinyl albums, vintage recording and phonograph equipment, displays of trumpets owned by famous musicians including Doc Severinsen, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis, and an array of jazz memorabilia. Live performances are scheduled periodically in the Museum's Trumpet Room. The Museum is open for tours on Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. Check out the Sherman Jazz Museum website to see photos,  read about the Collins family and their dedication to preserving jazz history, and more! Museum is located at 201 E. Lamar St., Sherman TX, in the historic Masonic Lodge Temple (1924).
